Welcome, traveler! Pull up a seat by the fire, the air's gotten chilly lately.
This blog is a continuation of my Substack blog of the same name. You can read more about why I've moved to this blog on my Substack post here, but the bottom line is that I wanted to have more control and ownership over how my content is displayed to the world such that I'm not dependent on some corporation's platform that doesn't have my best interests in mind.
The Substack isn't going anywhere for the time being, and will instead serve as a sort of marketing arm. The network effect of Substack is non-trivial, so I'll keep that blog alive and mirror my posts to there, and maybe add a couple other links, but you should consider this blog to be my content's true home. Feel free to keep your subscription there, or update it to here – either works.
One thing I'm looking forward to about this blog is that, for whatever reason, my mentality about blogging on a platform that I own somehow makes me feel a lot more confident and willing to actually use it. Something about ownership of the platform makes me feel more confident in sharing my thoughts. Not sure I can explain it! But the effect seems real so far, so I hope that translates into more frequent posts.
In particular, I'm looking to start a blog series about the creative process creating my first published RPG content: a Lancer one-shot as part of the Lancer One-Shot Jam. Stay tuned!
